# FAQ

## Your account

### What should I do first?

[Create your account](/start/create-your-account/), then use [Choose your path](/start/choose-your-path/) to find the guide for what you came to do.

### Do I need a company?

No. In onboarding, choose **I don't have a company**. You can still read reports shared with you, browse the directory and report for yourself. Add a company later from the switcher at the top of the sidebar.

### What is public, and what is private?

- **Your profile** is a public listing, and edits appear immediately.
- **Reports** stay drafts until you publish them, and you choose who gets access to each one.
- **A company** you are setting up publishes nothing until you accept the draft. Accepting creates the company, but a public page and directory listing are a separate step. See [Publish your company](/directory/publish-your-company/).

### How do I export my data or delete my account?

Open the account menu, then go to **Personal Settings › Privacy**. **Export Your Data** downloads your reports and data.

**Delete Account** suspends access to your account. Automated cleanup of application data isn't in place yet, so a confirmed request doesn't mean all your data has been deleted. To ask about what remains, contact [privacy@sureshake.com](mailto:privacy@sureshake.com).

## Reports and sharing

### Which report should I start with?

Start with the report you already owe someone. A [reporting profile](/founders/reporting-intents/) tells Reporter which source to use and which report to produce, and you can choose one in onboarding.

### How often should I report?

You choose the periods you report on. For a company, add those periods to the **Filing Calendar**. They then show under **Up next** on Review, and overdue ones appear in **What needs attention**.

### Who can see a report I publish?

You grant access per recipient or audience, and you can revoke it. Revoking access doesn't unpublish the report or remove its history. See [Sharing](/founders/sharing/).

### Do sharing controls cost extra?

No. View-only access, watermarks, passcodes, NDAs and page analytics are free in every plan.

### Someone sent me a report. How do I open it?

Follow the link. If you are asked to sign in, sign in or create an account, and you go straight to the report. Reports shared with you stay in **Review › Shared With Me**.

## Verification

### Does Sureshake guarantee that a company's numbers are true?

No. Sureshake records and shows evidence, such as where figures came from and whether a filing has changed. It doesn't audit reports or vouch for their contents. See [How proof works](/trust/how-proof-works/).

### What does "verified" mean on a company page?

On the company page, open the disclosure level tag or **Sources** and read what each line says. These are separate facts:

| What you see | What it means |
| --------------------------------------------------- | -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Profile control:** Identity verified by Sureshake | Sureshake verified who controls the profile. It says nothing about the company's business facts or figures. |
| **Sureshake verified** | The company manages the profile, and its financials are attested from a connected accounting system. |
| **Verification lapsed** | The accounting connection is no longer current. The line gives the date it was last verified. |
| **Filing integrity** | How many filings are timestamped. A timestamp shows a filing is unchanged since filing, not that its contents are correct. |

### Does Sureshake score companies?

A company with its own membership can show a reputation grade on its page, and signed-in viewers also see the number. It's a directional signal, not a guarantee of creditworthiness. See [Reputation](/trust/reputation/).

## Directory

### Why does a profile say "Not managed by the organization"?

It's a [reference profile](/directory/reference-profiles/): Sureshake assembled it from cited public sources, and the organization hasn't claimed it. The label tells you who does and doesn't control the profile. It isn't a warning or a judgment.

### How do I correct information about my company?

1. **Claim the profile.** Once approved, you manage the public facts. See [Claim your profile](/directory/claim-your-profile/).
2. **Suggest a correction.** When signed in, choose **Suggest correction** on the profile to correct a fact or report a duplicate. Submissions are reviewed and never edit the profile directly.
3. **Contact support** at [support@sureshake.com](mailto:support@sureshake.com) if neither fits.

### Why can't I request access on a profile?

**Request access** appears only where something on the profile is locked and access can be requested. Reference profiles have no organization managing them to approve a request. See [Following and access](/investors/following-and-access/).

## For investors

### Do founders know when I save or watch their company?

No. Private saves, watchlists and firm notes don't notify the company and don't grant access. Only an explicit follow or engagement request reaches the founder. See [Watchlists](/investors/watchlists/).

## Financial models

### Why is Fair Value shown as "—"?

Per-share fair value needs a shares-outstanding figure from the company's filings. Without one, or without another required fact, the model still computes what it can and shows "—" rather than inventing a number. The **Equity Waterfall** tab under supporting calculations shows where the chain stops. See [Financial models](/founders/financial-models/).

### Why don't I see a stock price or upside?

They appear only when licensed market data exists for the company. Without it, the model shows fair value only.

### Who can see my saved scenarios?

Only you. A share link reveals the scenario's name and assumption overrides, never who made it. People who open the link can't change your saved scenario.

### Is this investment advice?

No. Model output is user-generated analysis based on explicit assumptions. It is not issuer guidance, an analyst target or investment advice.

## Financial data for developers

### What is SFRS?

The Sureshake Financial Reporting Standard: the common set of statement lines that Sureshake normalizes financial data into.

### Why did new line items appear in SFRS responses?

The registry of SFRS concepts grew. New lines appear alongside existing ones. Each concept's definition and XBRL mappings are available from `GET /v2/sfrs/concepts`.

### What does it mean when a statement is "incomplete"?

The source couldn't fill every field the schema requires, and `missingFields` lists the gaps. Sureshake doesn't estimate values to make a document pass. Use the `fields` map for the lines that were observed. A `null` line is missing data, not zero.

### How do SFRS lines relate to XBRL tags?

Each concept has an ordered chain of XBRL mappings, such as us-gaap, ifrs-full and dei. Some concepts also define how to derive a value when the filer doesn't tag it directly.
