# Raise capital

Use the capital marketplace to show investors your record on your own terms. You choose what each audience sees and decide who gets to follow you.

Your reports are what give the listing substance, so start with [Build your track record](/founders/) if you haven't yet.

## Join the marketplace

You need to be the company's owner to join.

1. Go to **Control** > **Entity Info** > **Public profile**. Under **Managed elsewhere**, choose **Company values and achievements**. This opens your company's profile page.
2. Under **Capital marketplace**, choose **Join the capital marketplace**.

Joining creates an unpublished listing, so you can prepare your profile. It doesn't show your company to investors.

## Prepare your profile

Fill in the **Profile editor**: name, **Stage**, sector, geography, **Capital status**, website, LinkedIn, X handle and a traction summary.

**Capital status** is one of **Not raising**, **Planning**, **Open to relationships** or **Actively raising**. It's a status, not an offer.

## Decide who sees each field

Under **Profile visibility**, set a tier for each field:

| Tier | Who can see it |
| --------------------- | ---------------------------------- |
| **Public** | Everyone |
| **Follower** | Approved followers |
| **Capital** | A deeper tier than follower |
| **Diligence** | The deepest tier |
| **Custom grant only** | Only people given that exact field |

Each tier also includes the tiers before it. A diligence follower can see capital, follower and public fields.

> **Caution**
>
> Every field starts as **Public**, including **Capital status** and your
> traction summary. Change anything you don't want public before you share your
> listing.

To check your choices, go to **Profile preview** and pick a tier under **View as**. If a change would widen who can see a field, you're asked to confirm it before saving.

## Choose what's public

Under **Public execution and evidence**, select the records to show. Only records you select, and that are currently eligible, appear. See [Execution record and seasons](/founders/execution-record/).

## Review requests to follow you

Requests appear under **Follow requests**, each with the reason, the **Requested tier**, the **Desired observation** and the **Requested duration** of up to 365 days. For each one, choose:

- **Accept as requested**
- **Narrow access**: accept at a lower tier
- **Decline**

Approval unlocks follower updates and the catalog of documents they can request. It doesn't unlock the contents of your documents. To send someone a report, [share it](/founders/sharing/).

## Manage who follows you

Under **Current follower access** you can renew, pause, narrow or revoke each follower's access. Access expires automatically unless you renew it.

## Invite a follower to take the next step

From a follower's entry, you can send an invitation for a **Meeting**, a **Report** or a **Capital Objective**.

## Review suggestions

Under **Capital match suggestions**, you'll see human-curated capital providers, with why they may fit, what's unknown, and any conflicts. You can dismiss any suggestion.

## Learn how investors see you

See [Evaluating companies](/investors/evaluating-companies/) and [Following and access](/investors/following-and-access/).
