Read this page to understand what a hiring decision records, and what you need to track elsewhere.
Record a decision
When an application is Evaluated, open it and select Hire or Reject. See review applications for the steps before that point.
You can’t change a decision afterwards. Sureshake then records:
- the application’s new status, Hired or Rejected
- the date the application closed
The candidate sees the new status in My Applications. On a hired application, the timeline reads Offer Accepted.
What a decision does not do
A decision only changes the status of that application.
- The role stays open. Close it yourself when you finish hiring. See close a role.
- Other applications don’t change. Decide each one separately.
- Your execution record doesn’t update. If hiring is one of your goals, record the result in your execution record.
Retention
Sureshake doesn’t currently track what happens after a hire, so there are no 30, 90 or 180-day retention checkpoints. Track retention in your own HR system.
What a Hired status proves
A Hired status is the company’s own record that it selected a candidate. It isn’t evidence of employment:
- Sureshake doesn’t check that the person started or still works there.
- It isn’t anchored on a public blockchain.
- It’s visible only to the candidate and to people with hiring access at the company, so it doesn’t appear on the candidate’s profile.
