Following and requesting access do different jobs. Follow a company to keep up with what it makes public. Request access when you want something it keeps private. Following never grants access.
Follow a company
Open the company's page
Open the Company actions menu (the ⋮ button beside the company name).
Choose Follow
Sign in if asked. The company doesn’t need to approve this. The action changes to Following.
To stop following, choose Following again. If the action isn’t in the menu, the profile can’t be followed in its current state, for example because it’s archived.
Companies you follow appear in the Following view of your Feed. Check the Feed rather than expecting an email for each update.
Follower identities and totals are visible to the company’s administrators, not to other visitors.
Following a person
Following a person works differently. On a person’s profile, Follow sends a request for them to review in their Action Center. Choose Cancel follow request to withdraw it. See your connections and follows on your Network page.
Request access to a locked tab
A company can share a tab only with approved viewers. A tab like this is marked Locked and opens to a message that it’s permissioned. The protected values aren’t sent to your browser.
Start the request
Open the locked tab and choose Request access. You’ll also find Request access in the Company actions menu.
Your identity is attached to the request, so you need to be signed in.
Complete the form
Choose a Requester role: Investor, Lender, Buyer, Advisor, Founder, or Other. Add a Request note saying why you’re asking.
Submit
The request goes to the company’s managers, who can approve or reject it. A company page request applies only to that tab.
When a request is approved, the tab opens for you on the company page. Protected values stay masked until then. The company can revoke access later.
Requesting a single report
A request for a specific private report covers only that report. Approval gives you read access to its published version, and to nothing else.
When you won’t see Request access
The option appears only where a company has set up a permissioned tab. Reference profiles don’t offer it, because nobody manages the profile yet. If the public record is enough for what’s on a page, there’s nothing to request.
Read what’s been shared with you
Go to Shared with Me for reports and documents shared with you. Use All and Unread to filter, and search across them. Each item shows who shared it and what you’re allowed to do: View Only, Can Comment, or Can Suggest.
A Withdrawn badge means the owner has withdrawn it, and when. Founders control this from Share reports.
